Nurturing Young Hearts and Minds
Renaissance Preschool's curriculum fosters creativity, compassion, and a rich sense of inquiry in every child.
Our unique approach helps children develop a lifelong love of learning.

Children are Rich, Powerful, and Competent
Educators respect and embrace the wealth of knowledge each child brings to the educational experience. Both children and educators initiate the topics we wonder about, explore, and discuss in our preschool classrooms. Some topics develop into in-depth study projects that provide children opportunities to collaborate in small groups to make predictions, test theories, and revisit experiences.

Inquiry-Based Learning...
Our preschool provides an emergent, inquiry-based curriculum which means our topics of study change as the children are ready and interested. Educators carefully observe and listen to the children's ideas and questions, and use them to plan what we will happen tomorrow. We may also invite children to draw what they're thinking about to gain a better understanding. Interesting classroom discussions lead to discoveries and possibly more questions. They often generate new topics of interest too!

Additional Notes...
• Educators encourage children to slow down to focus, think, and solve problems in different ways.
• Rather than briefly covering many topics, we focus on uncovering one topic, in more depth..
• Children learn about letters and numbers, and get ready for Kindergarten in more wholistic ways... Let's count out ingredients as we bake together! Let's become "Shape Detectives" and find shapes everywhere!
• We implement an anti-bias curriculum - we acknowledge there are many ways to celebrate holidays and cultural traditions. We invite parents to visit with us to tell us about their family's celebrations and culture.
